Knowing oneself is getting to know one’s own mind. Through meditation, we gain familiarity with our thoughts and emotions. Becoming familiar in this way allows us to work more skillfully with our habitual patterns and also allows us to discover profoundly rich and powerful qualities of mind’s true nature.

This course will introduce the shamatha meditation practices included in the Nalandabodhi practice path. In addition to the practice techniques, we will learn about the favorable conditions for meditation practice, postures of body, speech and mind, obstacles to shamatha and their remedies, the nine stages of resting the mind, and appreciating our practice.

There is no charge for attending this course. Participants are welcome to attend all of the classes or any portion of the classes.

Suitable for beginners and beyond.

Dates: Sundays from 10:30 am to noon, October 21 to December 16, 2018.

The suggested donation for each class is $5-10.
